Artisans in Latin America

Indigenous artisans and small-scale producers make high-quality crafts in Latin American countries such as Ecuador, PerĂº, Bolivia, Colombia, and Argentina. Usually, these artisans and producers form associations in their communities. In these associations, they perform economic activities which, in contrast to traditional commercial companies, do not have a vertical structure but their income is equally distributed among the associated members. With the income they received from their economic activities, the associations support health, infrastructure and educational projects in their communities.
